Lord of Misrule Shower Cream

It’s only fitting to be starting my blog with something LOM scented isn’t it?

The name Lord of Misrule comes from the name of a specially appointed individual who was in charge of presiding over a feast day called The Feast Of Fools in the middle ages in Britain. His job included presiding over wild parties, drunkenness and other Christmastime revelries, which sounds like a great job IMO.

Originally appearing way back in 2013 as part of that year’s Halloween range, it has absolutely become a fan favourite, returning almost every Halloween since and you can now find it all year round at Oxford Street or online.

Unlike some of the other shower creams Lush has created, I find the consistency of LOM perfect, it’s not too thick like a shower cream can be. The lather isn’t a lot but I’m not a massive fan of shower gels and creams that lather up too much so for me it’s just fine.

The spicy scent of the Patchouli and Black Pepper is sweetened by the addition of Vanilla Absolute, giving a comforting earthy aroma that stays on your skin for hours after using it. It’s a very different scent to a lot of other Lush products so it’s no wonder why it’s became a staple Lush scent.

The Black Pepper Oil stimulates the blood flow to the skin giving a brightness that you can definitely see after a wash with this brilliantly green cream, however I find that the best thing about this product is the excellent moisturising qualities of the Cocoa Butter and the Wheatgerm Oil. Wheatgerm Oil is incredibly nourishing due to the high protein and vitamin E content meaning this shower cream is perfect for combating dry patches in the skin or just if you want to feel incredibly soft!
