Shower, Shower Bombs

Karma Shower Bomb

The last of the four original shower bombs is Karma.

If you haven’t already, check out my posts on the other original shower bombs: Sleepy, Koyaanisqatsi and Not Sleepy.

With one of Lush’s most popular and well known scents, Karma stands out along with Sleepy as the scents you already know and love. Like most products featuring the Karma scent, this shower bomb is really heady with the classic smell. The Karma scent is made predominantly of Patchouli, Brazilian Orange and Pine; and as you can imagine with a name like Karma, it’s quite a balancing and meditative scent. The spicy earthiness of the Patchouli is slightly sweetened by citrusy Orange, whilst the freshness of the Pine is more of a background note. Karma’s a scent that leaves you calm and collected, yet also ready to take on the world.

Like the other shower bombs, to use you first hold it under the shower water and you then use the foam it produces like a shower gel to wash yourself.

Whilst Karma has a decent foam, it wasn’t as much as Sleepy or Not Sleepy. Though I did find Karma to be the softest of the four, meaning I actually preferred to mash the rest of it into my hand to create the foam quicker and for ease.

The resulting later was super soft, the Potato Starch and Sodium Alginate make the shower bombs especially soft and creamy in texture once they get going. Sodium Alginate is actually derived from seaweed and seaweed is great for nourishing the skin.

Similar to Koyaanisqatsi, Karma doesn’t really contain an exfoliant. It features Turmeric Powder which I imagined would be exfoliating but it really isn’t that noticeable. Turmeric is, however, an antioxidant and is purifying for the skin.

After using it I can still smell the fragrance on my skin a good few hours later and my skin feels lovely and smooth.

Although I still believe Sleepy to be the best shower bomb, Karma comes in at second due to the amazing smell and the soft texture which was easily applied, closely followed by Not Sleepy and then Koyaanisqatsi.

I look forward to Lush bringing out more shower bombs in the future and I hope you do too!
