Bath, Bubble Bars

Bling Crosby Bubble Bar

Named after the famous American star Bing Crosby, this bubble bar is proper retro! First coming out for Christmas of 2006! It was last released as a kitchen exclusive at the start of 2017 and I happened to come across one for myself!

With the classic Karma scent, this limited edition is basically just a Christmas version of the popular Karma Bubble Bar, with the orange being a throwback to the original colour of Karma. It’s a circular pudding shape with a singular clove sticking out the middle. It’s big enough so you could definitely get two or even three baths out of it.

I’d say that it doesn’t smell as potent as Karma Bubble Bar but you can clearly tell it’s part of the same family. This signature scent is made up of Brazilian Orange, Patchouli, Lemongrass, Pine, and Lavandin.

The strongest notes are the Orange and the Patchouli for sure, with the Orange giving a sweetness to the earthy, spicy Patchouli. Then there’s almost a woody, green note from the Lemongrass and Pine. Karma’s a very balancing and meditative scent, yet almost intoxicating like spice markets and shisha lounges.

Lemongrass and Orange have toning qualities when used on the skin, and Lavandin and Patchouli have calming and antibacterial effects.

When crumbling this bubble bar you can clearly see the strong orange colour that it has, and whilst the bathwater was still shallow it was very present, turning it a lovely golden shade of orange. However, as the water got deeper, it very much lost its shade, so for someone who likes a full bath like me, it was somewhat disappointing. I didn’t even manage to get a picture of the colour before it became too diluted.

Saying that, the scent was still there throughout my bath time which was beautifully relaxing and the golden lustre that covers Bling Crosby was still very present in the sparkling water. Afterwards I could still smell the scent on my skin but it was very subtle and didn’t last for very long.

I’m glad I got to try this limited edition product but I can’t say I’ll be too sad if it wasn’t available again. I much prefer the actual Karma Bubble Bar!
