Life’s A Beach was a relatively forgettable product that started out as an exclusive product for Australia and New Zealand. It then became available at Oxford Street and online before being released in all stores across the country.
It was discontinued earlier this year and honestly I don’t think many people are too sad about it.
Unlike most of Lush’s products, Life’s A Beach came packaged in a cardboard box, much like the ‘Showders’, this made it easier to pour the product out of the little slot, rather than scoop it out of a black pot. Whilst it’s great that obviously this packaging is fully and easily recyclable, the trouble with it is that you can’t really get it wet without the risk of it causing damage to the box, and obviously for something that you use in the shower, this isn’t ideal.
Like the name suggests, a main part of this scrub is Sand and it’s the most visible ingredient. There’s also Sea Salt in there too, but yes this product is mainly just fragranced sand. These two natural exfoliators are a great way of scrubbing the skin without the use of microbeads which are incredibly damaging to the environment.
A great thing about this product is that because the scrub is dry, you can use it straight away as it is or add it to water depending on how abrasive you want a scrub to be. Personally I really love to add some of it to a shower gel or cream such as Oaty Creamy Dreamy or It’s Raining Men for a more luxurious moisturising scrub.
The scent is rather sweet as Life’s A Beach is fragranced with Gardenia, Jasmine, Tonka and Vanilla. The Tonka and the Vanilla are the strongest notes, reminding me of sweet ice cream at the beach which is very fitting.
If you’re just using this scrub on it’s own the scent actually lingers with you for quite a while, however it’s easily over powered by stronger smells when used in conjunction with another product.
My skin always feels so soft after using this product, like I said it’s just perfect for turning your favourite shower gel into a scrub!
I can’t say I’ll miss this product that much when mine has ran out, there are a multitude of scrubs I enjoy much more and frankly it was about time for this particular one to go, customers hardly ever purchased or were even intrigued by it. May she rest in piece.
