Candy Mountain is a Christmas exclusive product that has been part of the Christmas range for years and has sported many different looks throughout it’s lifetime. For Christmas 2018, Lush chose to revamp it’s image again and this time called it a Yule Log Bubble Bar, inspired by the traditional Christmas dessert. You can sort of see from the background in the image below that the product is actually made as a long log and is then cut into slices.
Candy Mountain is basically a Christmas version of the popular bubble bar, Creamy Candy and is why the latter gets discontinued throughout the Holiday season. They feature the same scent and very similar ingredients. This year’s version is more 2D than the cone shapes that came before it, it’s also capped with Cocoa/Shea Butter to look like snow, cute!
Candy Mountain, as the name suggests, smells of candy sweet goodness and is very similar to Snow Fairy. Whereas Synthetic Musk makes up the iconic Snow Fairy scent, Candy Mountain features Vanilla Absolute and I think is slightly more of a warmer smell and definitely more subtle.
The bubble bar is very easily crumbled, I think due to the addition of both Cocoa and Shea Butters in it’s mix. The end result is luxuriously soft bubbles and glistening bright pink waters due to the addition of glitter, which doesn’t feature in it’s year round counterpart. I’d also say that this version is slightly more pigmented.
The Cocoa and Shea Butters also mean that this product is very moisturising and leaves you with baby soft skin that smells real good for hours after!
