Bath, Bath Bombs

Perle De Sel Bath Bomb

Oh holy Jesus, this is my favourite product of this year’s Christmas range! Don’t be fooled by it’s boring exterior, Perle De Sel is truly beautiful in the water.

The name means ‘Salt Pearl’ in French and is what decorates the top of the bath bomb. Although featured here covered in golden lustre, African Salt Pearls are sparkling white balls of salt formed when wind blows across salted water. They really soften the water and give a touch of luxury to your bath.

Without knowing, you’d presume that Perle De Sel is mostly white, perhaps with a hint of gold, but you couldn’t be more wrong. When in the bath, the outer shell foams and fizzes away and releases beautiful streams of bright turquoise into the water. This bath bomb also features a heavy amount of glitter, which looks absolutely amazing as it glimmers and surges under the surface of the water, giving a velvet like appearance. I’m really a sucker for a bright blue bath and there was something icy and wintery about this one, perfect for bathing at this time of the year!

For those in the know of Lush scents, Perle De Sel features the same scent as the Snowcake range, a typical scent of Lush Christmases which creates a cosy, warming aroma reminiscent of sugared almonds and marzipan.

The sweet, nutty resinous scent of Benzoin Resinoid is mainly what you can smell, but it’s put together with a slight floral hit from soothing and toning Rose Absolute. Cassie Absolute rounds it out by providing an uplifting odour that’s equally spicy and floral. Out of all your typical Christmas scents, it’s smells like this that I’m really enamoured by.

Whilst the scent was extremely subtle whilst I was in the bath, I could definitely smell the cosy, decadent aroma on my skin for a good few hours later and it left me feeling beautifully smooth and soft, like I had covered my body with dusting powder!

I’m gonna need to stock up on lots of these beauties before the season is over because you never know whether Lush will bring it back next year or not! (Fingers crossed!)
