Cheery Christmas Bath Bomb

Another new bath bomb for 2018’s winter seasonal range is Cheery Christmas, released with a brand new fragrance of Buchu and Sicilian Lemon Oils.

This hexagonal shaped bath bomb is slightly smaller than most others, but is also cheaper too, meaning it’s great for an extra add on gift, stocking filler or for a non-expensive treat for yourself when you’re running low on Christmas savings.

The new scent Lush have paired with it is rather bright, uplifting and lives up to the cheery name. The fruity notes of Buchu Oil are very similar to Cassis, or Blackcurrant, giving it a smell not too far from The Comforter and the more citrusy notes from the Lemon are more of a background hit.

Because this bath bomb’s underside is flat, you can get it to float really nicely if you’re careful. Just hold it on the surface of the water for a few seconds and wait until you feel ready to gently let go and it should stay afloat! If it works then it’ll stay that way for a good five or six minutes and look really pretty as it slowly dissolves. It’s also an amazingly quiet fizzer, which is really appreciated for a relaxing moment of simply watching the display, like a snowflake gently floating across a pink sky.

Once the water has reached the centre of the bath bomb, streams of blue start appearing and the water starts to take on a slightly more purply tinge, but it’s not a major change as the pink remains the dominant colour.

Unfortunately the scent almost vanished once the product itself had disappeared and there wasn’t much of a reminder on my skin after either, apart from a slightly softer feeling and a light shimmer from the glittery water.

Whilst I love the design and the fragrance of the whole product, it’s not one of the standouts of the Christmas collection this year and I can’t say I’ll be too sad if it doesn’t make a return in coming years.
