Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb

Inspired by the ruler of the pagan Feast of Fools, Lord of Misrule is a scent that’s been around for years and started with this bath bomb. I’m sure you can guess, this product is one of my favourites!

In history, a ‘Lord of Misrule’ was someone who presided over mischief, drunken revelries and partying in between Halloween and Christmas and was often dressed up in fancy almost jester-like outfits. One would assume that Lush chose the design of this bath bomb to replicate this idea.

It’s a combination of Black Pepper, Patchouli and Vanilla that make up the scent, but the former two definitely give the biggest impression. The Patchouli and Black Pepper seem to merge almost perfectly, giving a spicy, yet grounding earthiness and Vanilla then wraps the two together with a comforting hint of sweetness. It’s a very charming and tempting scent to me.

In the water, the bomb first starts to froth and foam rather than fizz, and waves of colour from the bright green surface dance out. However it soon gives way to a fizzy core that’s a deep reddish purple colour. This utterly divine colour takes over the green water and turns it a beautiful red wine colour, which is very fitting for something relating to drunken festivities and very unlike any other bath bomb Lush have to offer!

If you listen out, when the product is near the end of it’s show you can hear the Popping Candy crackle and pop from the bottom of your tub!

The heady, intoxicating scent stays with you the entire time and with the snapping of the Popping Candy, you almost feel like your own mischievous Lord of Misrule. Your skin after will honestly feel so supple and soft and as a great bonus, you can smell the intoxicating scent on you for hours after!
