Sugar Plum Fairy Body Scrub

Another new product for Christmas 2018! They really treated us this year!

Both the colour and the name would have you suspect that Sugar Plum Fairy was related to the Plum Rain range of products. And whilst it does share similar ingredients, it’s actually a very different smell. One that’s actually more like the blackcurrant vibes from The Comforter, than anything Plum Rain.

A mixture of Umeboshi Plum (a type of pickled plum, popular in China) gives fruity notes whereas Sweet Wild Orange Oil sweetens the deal and is responsible for giving it sickly fragrance that reminds me of grape soda and fizzy drinks from my childhood. It’s perfectly suited for those with a sweet tooth (or nostril) but much like with the lip scrub, it’s a bit too much for me.

Both the plum and the orange have antiseptic and toning qualities to cleanse and refresh your skin but the main feature of Sugar Plum Fairy is obviously the exfoliant.

Larger grains of Caster Sugar are mixed with smaller grains of Sea Salt to give your skin a perfect exfoliation all over. Once you’re in the shower and rubbing the product over your body you can really feel it doing it’s work. If you’re not a fan of harsher scrubs then you might want to soften the scrub in the water first before using. Because it is basically just sugar and salt it softens quite easily.

However because of this, this scrub sadly doesn’t last very long. It does depend on how much you use of course, but I couldn’t really get more than two showers from it because it breaks down so easily. It might be better breaking it into smaller chunks first, rather than using the whole thing but personally, it’s not a very expensive product, so I don’t mind too much.

It’s an amazing scrub and it’s perfect for a good and deep exfoliation but although my skin does feel beautifully soft and polished after using it, sadly I’d much rather a different fragrance.
