Buck’s Fizz Naked Body Conditioner

Christmas 2017 was all about being naked and packaging free with naked shower gels, naked body lotions and naked body conditioners which went down a treat with customers wanting to be more eco-friendly and create less waste. Packaging really is so out at the moment.

Lush bought back these naked body conditioners for 2018’s range and Buck’s Fizz made a return.

Really the only difference between this version and the potted variety is a couple of extra ingredients that help it retain it’s solid state.

Although both versions contain a generous amount of softening Murumuru Butter, the naked’s base is comprised of Shea and Cocoa Butters as well. Lush have also added two waxes from vegetable sources, Japan Wax and Carnauba Wax, to help solidify the product.

The addition of these ingredients of course changes how the product feels on your skin, I’d say that this version seems a lot more oily and thicker with the first rub on your skin, but once both versions have sinked in, there’s really no difference in feeling. I actually tried both versions on different parts of my body and without knowing, I wouldn’t have been able to tell which one was which. Buck’s Fizz is a case where they’ve got the naked version spot on.

In terms of scent, there is a slight difference. Whilst it still contains the trio of Lime, Cognac and Orange Oils that make up the fragrance, along with Pink Grapefruit Decoction and Orange Blossom Water, it doesn’t contain the Fresh Orange Juice like the potted version. Although a small change, I think it makes a significant difference as it doesn’t smell as juicy and stays truer to the original scent, in my opinion.

Because of this, I actually prefer this version to the other. For me, the liquid is just too strong and smells too much of juice, this subtler version makes my nose a lot happier.

Did you get a chance to try both? Let me know which you preferred!
