Bath, Bath Bombs

Princess Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb

Princess was one of three new two-in-one bath bombs this year. You have to buy the complete package when you’re purchasing a ‘bomb bomb’ and you can either use both parts at once or get two baths with a head and a body.

More often than not, fairy tales tell the story of a far off kingdom where a beautiful princess lives, who’s no doubt the fairest of them all. However there’s nothing beautiful and fair about this princess, she’s somewhat… scary.

The trouble is, although designed to look cute with long blonde hair, a pink dress and a crown, she’s really really delicate and easily damaged, leading to the princess looking more like an ugly step-sister.

Having said that, at least she smells nice. She wears a sweet and floral perfume of Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Bergamot and Benzoin Resinoid, which smells really unique amongst other floral smells Lush have at the moment. The main part of the scent is definitely the Ylang Ylang, which is naturally sweet and floral, with background notes of woody Cedarwood and Benzoin Resinoid giving a more muskier aroma. I can’t personally pick out the Bergamot in the fragrance but I’m guessing it ties everything together to finish the scent.

Princess is a pure fizzer, rather than a foamer and quickly spreads the colour into the water. If you’re using both parts of the bomb bomb, the water turns a peachy colour as the pink and yellow mix. A thin layer of oils spread atop the water once she’d dissolved, gave me hope for a moisturising bath.

My suspicions were correct and surprisingly, my skin felt the effects as soon as I got submerged. Be careful the oils don’t get on the sides of the tub as I found myself having to wipe away a couple of light stains where the rim of the water had been.

The light and comforting scent stayed on my skin after I had towelled off, albeit in a subtle version, but I definitely found myself sniffing my arms for a nice recollection of the fragrance.

I guess it’s true that beauty lies within as Princess Bomb Bomb turned out to be rather nice, I hope if Lush bring her back next year they perhaps tweak the appearance and make her a little less delicate as some we sold were kinda hideous.
