Bath, Bath Bombs

Tender Is The Night Bath Bomb

Whenever Lush release a new exclusive product in one of your favourite scents, it can leave you a little anxious. Will they get the scent absolutely right? We’ve seen in the past that the same scent in different formats can end up very different, but nevertheless, when Lush gave me the opportunity to purchase Tender Is The Night in a bath bomb form, I jumped on it.

First things first, the design is wonderful. Both this and The Olive Branch Bath Bomb, that was also released at the same time, share this pretty swirly pattern which I really love. The ‘LUSH’ logo on the top gave it a very retro feeling and the colour scheme is also very much in keeping with the Tender Is The Night massage bar that first made me fall in love with the scent.

The moment of truth soon came for me to smell it for the first time. Praying I wasn’t going to be disappointed I held it up to my nose and I slowly breathed in. NOW B*TCH IT IS FABULOUS, it’s all I could ever want! I even gave my massage bar a sniff just to make sure but girl, it’s basically the same! They got it right, praise Mark!

If you’ve never had the pleasure of revelling in this scent then let me tell you about it. It starts with Jasmine, the sensual flower that’s been used as an aphrodisiac for centuries. We then have sweet and floral Ylang-Ylang which pairs well with Jasmine and finally, and what majorly changes it from other Jasmine scents like Lust Perfume, is the inclusion of Vanilla Absolute. The Vanilla adds a musky sweetness that lightens the Jasmine beautifully. I feel like it’s such a sensual, yet delicate aroma.

As usual when it comes to bath bomb forms of other scents, it does come across a little more powdery than the massage bar but I reckon it suits this format to a T.

Once I placed it in the water, clouds of pink were released from under it and the ballistic started to spin, sending off further streams of pink and creamy white into the tub. I was really surprised at how long it took to fully dissolve which allowed me to watch and admire it’s beauty. Once all the remnants had disappeared, I was left with a cloudy light pink bath that was still giving off slight remembrances of the scent as I soaked. I can’t say there was any particular hydrating effects for my skin but I came out feeling wonderfully soft, with the scent lightly remaining for a good couple of hours after.

Tender Is The Night is perhaps one of the best bath bombs I’ve used in a long while, and I’m so glad it lived up to my expectations. I think it would make an excellent addition to the year round range and I don’t want to have to travel to Lush Harajuku to get another!
