Over and Over is a bath bomb that’s never really been on my radar, I’ve never actually used one until now and the only reason I have is because it’s actually being discontinued, which I can’t say I’m that sad about. Over and Over is a bright yellow bath bomb that’s been dipped in orange cocoa butter and features a zesty, vibrant scent.
The scent and the name are actually a reflection on a friendship turned sour. Mark has previously said that “Over and Over contains Lime, Fennel and Cypress because they’ve got a hell of a kick and savoury, repetitive and herbal coriander notes because this specific person repeats things over and over again and is very boring and so is coriander.” But he also says the trouble is, that it’s still a nice perfume at the end of the day. It seems like Mark has a lot of pent up feelings towards this person!
To me the scent is very complex, whist you do have the uplifting zesty Lime scent, the Cypress and Fennel give deeper base notes which is somewhat herbal, somewhat spicy and almost aniseed like. I’m really not a massive fan of anything too citrusy but this is surprisingly okay. I feel like the scent really gets you motivated in a way, it’s very stimulating and really energises you.
Once popped in the water, yellow streams and blobs float away from the ballistic as it slowly fizzes whilst the cocoa butter top half slowly melts into the warmth. After a while, Over and Over slowly reveals a pink inner core and when it gets going, it creates stunning psychedelic bath art with pinks and yellows swirling across the water, which was beginning to turn a vibrant shade of orange underneath.
Once I was in the bath, I immediately felt the moisturising benefits of the Cocoa Butter which had imbued the water with it’s goodness and allowed for quite a luxurious bath. The scent remained still present in the room even when the bomb had disappeared albeit in a subtler version.
Now I’m out and writing this post, my skin feels wonderfully hydrated and there’s still a faint zingy aroma on my skin which is nice. Turns out this bath bomb makes for a pretty alright bath and was visually so beautiful to watch! Now I’ve used it I’m slightly more sad she’s going but it really feels like it’s her time to go. See ya Over and Over.
