Bath, Bath Bombs

Rose Butterfly Bath Bomb

I think that this year’s Mothers Day range is beyond incredible, I feel so overwhelmed with so many new and exciting things to try! Three of the new limited edition products are butterfly shaped bath bombs which are made with specially 3D printed moulds. There’s a Rose Butterfly, a Lemon Butterfly and a Wild Butterfly, and their beautiful marble effect patterns are created by sprinkling different coloured mixes into the moulds before pressing. They’re some of the most beautiful products I’ve seen in a long while!

I picked up Rose Butterfly first because both it’s colours and it’s scent really drew me towards it. This gorgeous bath bomb features a new fragrance that Lush are calling Road Rage apparently. It’s a musky floral perfume of Sicilian Lemon Oil and Rose Oil and is absolutely to die for. It’s really powdery and I don’t think that just comes from the format either. The bright notes from the Lemon really lift the sweet and floral Rose and it’s a beautiful balance between the two. I say it’s a new scent, but it strongly reminds me of Two More Hearts Perfume, which contains the two ingredients amongst others. The scent of the perfume is a lot deeper and more complex though, whereas this is like a light recreation; but I loved the perfume, so I’m in head over heels for this too.

Once popped in the bath, I was hoping I could get Rose Butterfly to float for some cute pictures, but sadly she half sank under the water. Still, I managed to get some lovely shots of the pretty blues and pinks that dispersed out of the bomb. Much like the patterns on the actual butterfly, it made some beautiful bath art. I was also very pleased at the fact that whilst it was fizzing away, Rose Butterfly released a heavy dose of it’s wonderful aroma into the room.

After a relatively quick fizz, the end result was the most gorgeous vibrant shade of purply-blue, decorated with silvery lustre. I am actually blown away by how pretty both the bath art and the end result is from this bath bomb. I’ve not seen such a beautiful and exciting end colour from a Lush product in a long time and I couldn’t wait to jump in! Once I had taken the plunge with the warm water feeling so soft and the colour and the scent all around me, it was honestly heaven.

Even once I was towelled off and ready to snuggle up for the night,  I could still smell the light, yet powerful scent lingering on my skin. Although there’s no particularly moisturising ingredients in this product, my skin still felt lovely and soft and was decorated with a little amount of the shimmering lustre.

In conclusion, Rose Butterfly is one of the best bath bombs I’ve ever used. Honestly. I cannot express how much I love it! I strongly urge everyone to try it before it potentially disappears forever! If I were a rating sort of Lushie, it would definitely get top marks from me!
