This years Mother’s Day range has given us plenty of bath bombs to choose from. There’s the three butterflies, two returning favourites from last year, a teapot, four flower themed bombs that feature a note you can write on and then there’s Floating Flower, which is also flower themed but different to the others.
Floating Flower is a light blue bath bomb that actually features a real Chrysanthemum flower which has been dipped in Cocoa Butter before being attached to the top. The idea is that when the bomb dissolves, it leaves the flower floating around the tub!
Not only does it have such a cute and visually appealing design, but the scent is beautiful too. The initial almondy smell really reminded be of Cinders Shower Gel but it quickly became much more powdery and floral. Floating Flower contains Almond Essential Oil and Lavender Oil, along with the scent of the actual Chrysanthemum itself and it’s surprisingly strong! Whilst I don’t really think the floral notes are easily identifiable as Lavender, I’d definitely describe it as if freshly cut flowers met the sweet smell of almonds and marzipan and I really love it.
In the water, it was a relatively fast fizzer and the water soon took on the gorgeous milky blue colour of the bomb itself. The best thing to do is to carefully place the bath bomb in the water so you can leave the delicate flower dry and it’ll gradually sink in once the bomb has dissolved. After a short while, the flower was all that remained and the cocoa butter started melting off of it, imbuing the water with its moisturising benefits.
Once I was in, I immediately felt how soft and luxurious the water felt. Not only does it contain Cocoa Butter, but also a generous amount of Almond Oil too, both of which are extremely nourishing. The scent had also lifted into the air and lingered for a short time which made it heavenly. I was really impressed at the flower’s ability to hold itself together without disintegrating and it looked beautiful bobbing on the surface of the blue water!
After I was out and dried off, I felt no need to use a lotion or anything as my skin was so smooth and hydrated but sadly there wasn’t much of a strong reminder of the scent on my skin, just a faint version of the fragrance.
In conclusion, Floating Flower is such a beautiful product, I’m for sure going to buy one for my mum as I know she’ll love it and perhaps another one for me too! I’d love to see more products in the scent as well, so fingers crossed for the future!
