Iceshoggles Soap

I completely forgot I actually had this soap still sat in my cupboard, it wasn’t until I was deciding which soap to put out in my bathroom that I found it again! Luckily, it’s scent was definitely still there! Iceshoggles was a new soap for last Christmas and is named after the Scottish word for icicles, explaining its design.

It’s a green soap, with a white inner centre and originally when the soap was available, I didn’t think much of its design but it actually looks pretty cute standing up in it’s soap dish in my bathroom.

I didn’t originally think much of the scent either. It’s got a fresh, grassy scent that I originally mistook to be Violet Leaf, but in actual fact, it was Patchouli and Bergamot I was smelling. Patchouli is sweet and earthy, and is known for its grounding and mediative effects on the mind and is antibacterial too. Bergamot has a fresh, green and uplifting aroma and is also naturally cleansing. Furthermore Iceshoggles contains sweet and musky Labdanum Resinoid, sweet Ylang-Ylang Oil and sharp smelling Hop Oil and all these ingredients combine to create a scent that you could describe as green and slightly spicy.

The soap’s base is made up of Castor Oil, Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter and I think the change in Lush’s traditional Coconut & Rapeseed Oil base allows for a much smoother, less squeaky lather. I actually surprisingly found the lather from Iceshoggles to be quite creamy in consistency and although I don’t often take soaps into my shower, I’d be happy to with this one.

Each time I use it, it leaves it’s scent on my hands and skin which is a welcome bonus. For something I never thought I’d like, I’m definitely enjoying using it and thankful I got to give it a go. Unfortunately it wasn’t very popular when it was in stores, so it’s pretty unlikely to make a return this Christmas.

Did you ever get a chance to use Iceshoggles? What did you think?
