Ro’s Argan Sparkly Naked Body Conditioner

Along with the Iceshoggles Soap I found in my cupboard the other day, I also found another product I still had from Christmas that I hadn’t used. Along with naked versions of Christingle, Buck’s Fizz and Snow Fairy, Lush released a naked version of the popular Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner too! Though this version was slightly different, as it’s full of glitter!

As a whole, this sparkly version of Ro’s Argan contains most of the same ingredients as the original. If you’ve never come across either version of this wonderful product before, it’s scented in the Rose Jam scent, which is a sweet combination of Lemon, Rose and Geranium. Whilst the original body conditioner is a perfect match to the scent, I find that it’s somewhat muted in this version, perhaps due to the extra butters it’s much softer, yet it’s still the scent we all know and love.

Although not containing the Almond or Brazil Nut Oils that feature in the original, Ro’s Argan Sparkly still contains Shea, Cupuaçu and Cocoa Butters, with the latter being in a much higher quantity, helping it retain it’s solid state, alongside Carnauba and Sunflower Waxes. It also obviously contains Argan Oil, which is traditionally used as a treatment for skin conditions, including acne and eczema. It contains high levels of fatty acids including linoleic acid which is anti-inflammatory and therefore will soothe the skin, and oleic acid which will protect and condition skin. The beneficial oil is also full of antioxidant vitamins such as Vitamin E, promoting healthy cell regeneration.

Similarly, Goji Berry Juice is also antioxidant and helps to tone the skin along with Cypress Leaf Infusion. Whilst an infusion from Vanilla Pods give a warm sweetness to the scent as well as soothing the skin also.

Other than the format, the main difference between this naked version and its potted counterpart is that this one is full of glitter. Although you can see it covering the product, you don’t actually realise just how much is in there until you’re actually using it on the skin. After one sweep of it over my body in the shower, and after rinsing and towelling off, I was covered in glimmering golden lustre, and I mean covered. The picture above doesn’t even do it justice. I personally don’t mind a bit of glitter, but I certainly wouldn’t like to use it every day and it’s probably something I’m going to keep for special occasions.

Other than that, it does the job it’s intended for and my skin did feel adequately moisturised. However, I think I’ll stick to the stronger smelling glitter-less liquid variety.
