Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub

Rub Rub Rub was one of the first products I ever used from Lush. I was gifted it by a friend once and it quickly became one of my favourite products. It still has a special place in my heart, but after falling deep into the Lush product well, it’s somewhat been replaced by other more exciting products.

It’s important to exfoliate your skin from time to time. Regular, gentle exfoliation will get your skin glowing all year round. That’s because pores can become clogged with dead skin cells and everyday grime, and unclogging them helps your skin to look brighter and feel cleaner. The skin continuously creates new skin cells and removes the dead ones, so by exfoliating, you’re encouraging this process and helping remove the dead skin.

Rub Rub Rub is an interesting scrub. It’s full of hand-harvested Sea Salt as the exfoliant, but it’s got a rather wet consistency too due to the amount of Water and Lemon Juice in it. Lemon Juice is amazingly beneficial for the skin; Lemons are an excellent source of citric acid and vitamin C which cleanse and brighten the skin and help strip away excess oils. Although it sounds like a lot, Rub Rub Rub is actually fairly gentle and leaves behind silky soft skin.

Because of it’s wet consistency, you could describe it as an exfoliating shower gel. It actually lathers up just like one too due to the lathering agents it contains and once it mixes with water, it turns ever so soft and feels really gorgeous on the skin. You don’t just have to use it on wet skin either, if you’ve got tougher skin, you may want to try applying it to dry skin for a stronger scrub before stepping in the shower.

This vibrant blue shower scrub also features a bright and refreshing fragrance that’s made up of Lemon, Jasmine, Orange Flower and Mimosa. Although if you’d imagine what a mixture of lemon and salt would smell like, then that’s essentially the main smell with subtle fresh floral notes in the background. The main floral aroma comes from Jasmine and Mimosa Absolutes, the latter of which which has a sweet and energising fragrance. Mimosa flowers also contain a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate, soothe and firm the skin. The scent also remains on you for a good while after using it!

Rub Rub Rub is pretty versatile, and you can actually use it on your hair too. The Lemon Juice is great at removing excess oils and sebum, whilst the Sea Salt gently exfoliates the scalp and adds volume. If you’ve not tried it before, definitely give it a go!

Although I said my love for Rub Rub Rub is growing stale, in truth, it reignites every time I use it when I remember how great a product it is. It’s also a classic Lush product so if you’ve not tried it yet then you should really think about doing so!
