I adore Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds. It’s one of my favourite bubble bars ever! It’s supposed to invoke feelings of floating away from your troubles and worries on a fluffy cloud to a place with bluer skies and tranquility.
Blue Skies is very much like The Comforter or Brightside in terms of the size and the design. It has a pretty blue and white swirly pattern which looks so inviting to me. The large size means that one could easily get you four or five decent baths, though I use these sized bars in halves across two baths.
The relaxing scent of Blue Skies is mainly the work of Patchouli Oil. Patchouli is widely used in perfumery for its warm, earthy aroma that really takes you on a meditative journey. I love the scent of Patchouli as it really allows me to unwind with a clear mind. Frankincense, otherwise known as Olibanum is a very typical ‘incense’ fragrance. It’s citrusy, woody and refreshing and compliments the Patchouli with ‘cooler’ and fresher notes. Lastly, theres a warming hint of spiciness that comes from the addition of Cinnamon Leaf Oil. I find the Blue Skies scent so meditative and beautiful and it makes me feel so zen and peaceful, like a tree standing in the middle of a vast woodland after it rains. If you’re not a fan of the typical relaxing scent of Lavender, this might be a good alternative.
The bar I used in tonight’s bath was easily crumbled and I admired the vibrant blue colour the water became as soon as it hit the crumbs at the bottom of the tub. That blue colour remains with almost the same power when the tub is filled, though of course you have heaps of silky bubbles floating on the surface. It really does look like fluffy clouds floating through a clear blue sky. There’s something about the shade of blue that really puts you in a calm and peaceful mood.
I won’t say that Blue Skies is the most luxurious bubble bar, I still feel the need to moisturise after bathing with it but it’s not really designed to have beautiful effects on the skin. Although Patchouli and Frankincense do both have soothing and protective properties, whilst Cinnamon Leaf is a stimulant.
The only thing I wish, is that the scent had stronger staying power on your skin. it remains for a good while during your time in the tub but it fades soon after you’ve towelled off, which is a real shame; though hopefully by then you’re already in the desired state of mind.
In conclusion, Lush please don’t ever stop doing this bubble bar. I’ll be so upset!
