Karma Soap

I am so glad Lush decided to create the beautiful individual pieces of soap, they’re so much prettier than big chunks that get cut up in store! Karma’s circular design looks lovely featuring the flower on the front of it.

Obviously, Karma Soap shares the same fragrance as the iconic Lush perfume. Karma Perfume was inspired by the scents of Kensington High Street in the 1960s, at the time of hippies and the love generation. It’s a complex perfume with grounding, earthy Patchouli, bright and sunny Brazilian Orange, relaxing and floral Lavendin, with smaller notes of fresh Pine Oil, Elemi Oil and Lemongrass Oil.

The soap is very true to the scent, though I think it’s a little deeper on the patchouli side of things, with more of an overall earthy and meditative aroma than the perfume. These ingredients that make up the perfume have great effects on the skin too.

Indonesian Patchouli Oil is both soothing and antibacterial. Brazilian Orange Oil is full of nutrients and vitamins and is enzymically cleansing, which means it helps break down excess oils. Lavendin is a hybrid of Lavender but it shares the same soothing, calming and balancing effects. Pine Oil and Lemongrass Oil are both antiseptic and deodorising and lastly Elemi Oil is toning, balancing and also antiseptic.

Karma suds up well into your hands and produces a really fragrant lather which lingers on your skin for hours after. I find that even with every day use, Karma Soap takes ages to noticeably shrink!

The only problem I have with the majority of Lush’s soaps is that they can leave a squeaky clean feeling on your hands once you’ve used them, whereas I like to feel more moisturised and soft (like the effect after a shower gel), so usually I opt for more creamier soaps Lush have else I ensure I use a moisturiser! Nevertheless Karma makes for a decent and effective soap and looks so pretty sat in my bathroom!
