Flamingo Fun

Lush Liverpool currently have an immense amount of exclusive products, from perfumes to make up, from shower bombs to bath oils. They also have over ten exclusive bars of Fun! Flamingo Fun is based off of a long discontinued bubble bar called Pink Flamingo.

I never actually ever tried Pink Flamingo for myself at home but I’m instantly reminded of it’s fruity scent after smelling this neon pink Fun bar. Rosewood, Bergamot and Ylang Ylang create a scent that’s reminiscent of juicy sweets and fizzy drinks. Rosewood has a unique woody aroma that’s equally rosy and spicy with a hint of citrus in the background. Ylang Ylang is known for its sweet floral aroma and lastly the Bergamot adds uplifting sherbety notes. It’s a pretty subtle scent but when it’s up close the almost orangey sweetness comes out and it’s really lovely.

You can use a bar of fun in many different ways. Essentially it’s a mouldable bar of soap so you can play with it, wash with it, use it as shampoo or use it like a bubble bar to create a bubble bath. I’ve also heard of people using its uniquely creamy lather to shave with though I’ve yet to experience that myself.

Whenever I use a bar of Fun, I tend to use half to create bubbles in my bath and then use the remainder as my soap. Flamingo turned the water a lovely shade of pink and created a decent amount soft and foamy bubbles though usually with Fun baths its best to create more by swishing your hands through the water. The water always feels really soft when you’re making a bath with Fun due to the high about of Glycerine and Cornflour leaving your skin silky and smooth. This same effect occurs when I’m lathering up the product over my body, it leaves behind such a soft and luxurious lather!

Sadly, after I had washed by body and after my ‘soap’ bar had fully dissolved, the already subtle scent was becoming more and more unnoticeable and even after I was out and dry there’s wasn’t much of it lingering on my skin.

I don’t find Fun to be super moisturising but it definitely isn’t drying like some of Lush’s soaps can be. I did still find myself needing to lightly coat my body in a lotion though.

In conclusion, it’s been great experiencing this scent again in another format. Flamingo Fun is pretty decent but I can’t say I’m gagging to try it again.
