Dry and sore lips are my worst fear, I hate it. I’ve honestly spent years trying to find a good lip balm that instantly repairs and rehydrates chapped lips and until I became more into Lush, I didn’t even realise the company did them. I tell you, Lush’s Lip Balms are among the best I’ve ever tried and I’m really not just saying that.
If you’re someone who just wants a bog standard Lip Balm then Lip Service is the one to go for, it has a lightly sweet citrusy fragrance and taste from the addition of rejuvenating Tangerine Oil but not much else in terms of flavour.
Lush’s lip balms are incredibly moisturising due to their bases being made with highly hydrating butters and oils. In this case, Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter are blended with Beeswax, Olive Oil and Apricot Kernel Oil for velvety soft skin.
Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in vitamin A and softens and seals in moisture, helping protect your lips from further damage and Olive Oil is a powerful antioxidant.
Beeswax is the substance that forms the structure of a honeycomb and like the honey it houses, it has therapeutic properties that are of great use in cosmetics such as in lip balms. Not only is it deeply moisturising, creating a waterproof barrier on the skin, it’s also said to be particularly effective in healing bruises, inflammation and burns.
I’ve been using Lip Balms from Lush for a good few years now, and I’ve never had a bad case of dry and sore lips since. I really think they’re the best out there and will continue to buy them my whole life I am sure.
