Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb

Luxury Lush Pud had a scent change for this year’s release. Previously featuring the Twilight/Sleepy scent, this year it shares it’s scent with the Comforter scent family!

Luxury Lush Pud is mainly pink and resembles a traditional Christmas pudding, with the white ‘frosting’ design and the holly on top; though it also features multicoloured circles around the sides. It’s such a great design and it proves this by continuing to be one of the best sellers each Holiday season.

The pretty and colourful design of the bath bomb is only a taste of what’s to come in the water. Once submerged, it’s a real sensory performance as it quickly and loudly fizzes, releasing both the vibrant pink colour and the comforting familiar blackcurrant aroma.

The water quickly turns a sort of orangey, purply-pink colour and each coloured circle lets off streams of it’s own colour into the bath, creating beautiful mixing patterns on top of the water.

The scent, made up of Bergamot, Cassis and Cypress Oils is a popular one amongst Lush fans and has be produced in many different products over the years. It reminds me of sweet blackcurrant squash or fruity sweets and as the name suggests, is very comforting and cosy.

Personally, and I know a lot of people disagree, I prefer this product in this scent than it’s previous incarnation. As much as I love it, I think the Twilight scent is far too relaxing for a bath bomb with so many colours and the pink just seems to suit the Comforter scent so much more!

Sadly I did find that the scent wasn’t immensely powerful once the initial fizz had happened, and I was just left with a subtle smelling magenta bath. Somewhat surprising in all honestly because usually The Comforter is such a prominent scent! I was however, still able to smell it on my skin after which was still nice.

A word of warning for all you glitter haters, Luxury Lush Pud is full of it. I was literally sparkling from head to toe once I got out of the tub and continued to stay that way long after I towelled off! Good thing I don’t mind it then!

The Comforter Shower Cream

RIP to yet another much loved popular product. The Comforter Shower Cream was discontinued at the end of 2017.

As the name suggests, this pinky-purple Shower Cream was exactly the same scent as The Comforter Bubble Bar which has a fruity, juicy sweet scent of blackcurrants and fruit tea. It really reminds me of when I used to drink warm blackcurrant squash when I was much younger and it’s meant to invoke the sense of being hugged by a warm blanket and I think it does just that. It really is comforting.

The scent is actually made up of Cassis Absolute, Cypress Oil and Bergamot Oil but really the only smell I can detect is the Cassis, it seems the other oils just enhance the sweetness.

Mixed in with these ingredients we have nourishing Murumuru and Cocoa Butters which leave your skin feeling luxuriously soft and conditioned. Along with Almond Oil which is a wonderful ingredient with many benefits for the skin, these are what give The Comforter it’s thick, creamy consistency.

Lush have also added both Vanilla and Blackberry Infusions to this cream, mainly to add to the delicious fruity aroma but Vanilla also contributes to restoring the skin’s brightness and softness, whilst Blackberry Infusion helps tone and tighten.

Because it’s such a strong and powerful scent, it stays with you on your skin for ages after, I can even smell it the morning after a bedtime shower! It also leaves you with superbly soft skin. I do agree somewhat with those who say that they don’t feel completely fully clean after using The Comforter due to it’s sticky sweet scent and because it doesn’t lather as much as other creams and gels, but I think it’s worth it to smell like fruit parfait all day!

Lushies around the world went absolutely ape when it was discontinued and honestly I was just as shocked as they were. But Lush love to bring back a discon product every now and then so keep your fingers crossed and make do with the bubble bar in the meantime!
