Lust Perfume

I think what you’re good at, is what you like to do. I do believe that I’m good at jasmine. I wanted to do a really, really sexy, dirty, lustful fragrance and that’s what I’ve done. I’m very happy with it! I’d done fragrances like that before, but I’d never had the nerve to let them be. British people have a problem with sexy fragrances; there’s always this feeling of having to dress the thing up in a frock and put a bonnet on it. This time, I just went all the way.

Lust is a perfume that’s very much like Marmite. You either love it, or you hate it. It actually surprises me that people can’t stand the scent of Lust, or of jasmine itself because I absolutely adore it and Lust is one of my favourite perfumes Lush do.

The Jasmine is the main scent of this perfume. Jasmine has a very heady and sensual aroma which intoxicates your mind and also has aphrodisiac qualities. The Rose and Ylang Ylang add sweet floral notes whilst the Sandalwood gives the fragrance warmth and earthiness.

Wearing Lust makes me feel empowered and sexy, yet sophisticated, and because of this it really gives me a big confidence boost. Whenever I wear Lust I always get people asking me what it is or making comments about it. It’s said that if you go out wearing Lust you’ll be sure to gain an admirer or two!

It’s certainly not a perfume you can hide. It’s probably one of Lush’s strongest perfumes and it has great staying power perfect for long days as it will stay with you on your skin well into the night.

I’d say that this perfume is definitley wearable throughout the year, it works really well in Autumn and Winter for the pure richness of it, but also because of the floral side it works equally as well when the climate is warmer.

Because of the red colouring of Lust, try not to spritz it too close to light coloured clothing – especially whites as it does have a tendency to stain ever so slightly.

Flying Fox Shower Gel

Apparently the name Flying Fox originates from an argument Lush co-founders Mark and Mo Constantine had one day. He presented her with this jasmine scented new product and she screamed ‘I don’t give a flying f***’. Hilarious right? I’m debating asking Mark if it’s true or not but I don’t want to be fired.

I love the scent of Jasmine. It’s definitely one of my favourite scents around. Lust Perfume is possibly in my top three (it’s a hard choice!) Lush perfumes so clearly I’m going to love a shower gel that smells basically the same! I picked up mine from the Lush Labs/Kitchen release earlier this year. It used to be widely available in stores but sadly, as with many other products, this one had to go.

The signature ‘Lust’ scent is a mix of Jasmine, Vanilla, Rose, Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood. However, Flying Fox swaps out the Vanilla, Sandalwood and Rose for Cypress and Palmarosa Oils. Though because the Jasmine is so strong, both products smell almost exactly the same.

Jasmine is a strong aphrodisiac, with its rich, sweet smell being warming and seductive. I find that Flying Fox makes for a really luxurious and sensual shower, perfect for some pampering ‘me’ time.

Adding to the luxury is this shower gel’s texture. Full of different types of honey, it feels as though you are literally coating yourself in sticky sweet syrup, only to lather up really effectively after.

Honey is an excellent natural moisturiser, it’s extremely nourishing and has strong antibacterial properties, making it also an effective cleanser. It’s protective qualities also mean it’s superb for more delicate and sensitive skin too, after one shower with Flying Fox you come out feeling super soft!

The inclusion of an infusion made from Angelica, Burdock and Jasmine just make this gel even better. Chinese Angelica is well known for it’s toning properties and Burdock is antibacterial and soothing. And we’ve already mentioned the beautiful fragrance that Jasmine releases.

I can only hope and pray for Flying Fox to make a triumphant return to stores sometime soon.
